I had finally gotten out of the changing stall due to a few complaints from the customers. I went to check the dress out and find my friends. The problem was, I don't know if I should tell them about Josh or not. He kissed me. And wants me to lie to them.
As I keep on thinking about the choices, I finally find them. Unusually, at the arcade part of the mall.
"Hey guys. I got the dress and shoes. Makeup, hair and date may need some help." I tell them.
"Ooh, let me see!" Bethany said.
Wait, hold up. When did Bethany get here?
"Hey. Beth. Uh, when did you get here?" Way to sound casual Chanel. Way to go.
"Gina called me and told me she found Tay bawling her eyes out. We are all best friends. So, I came and tried to cheer her up." she explained.
"Yeah, I get that but, why in the arcade?" I ask her.
"Ok, so I did come partially because of the Matthews twins. What? Jake and Nate?"
"I admire how far off you are, Beth. It's actually Josh and Nolan." Taylor told her.
"But he goes by Nick for short." I so need to be out of the loop at least once in awhile.
"So, where did you and Nick go Gin?" I won't tell them that part about Josh.
"I went to Tay and Nick went somewhere. He was still in the store when I left. I guess he's with his brother now." she explained.
"And where could his brother be? I got something important to ask him." I really shouldn't have asked or said that.
"Ooh, ask him what Nell? To his hand in marriage? Or as a prom date?" Bethany teased.
"Girls, it's personal. Can one of you just tell me where he can be?"
"Chanel, please don't forget our promise." Taylor said. For a second, I thought she was going to cry all over again.
I went to sit next to her and whispered, "Taylor, I am not going to break the promise. I just have to ask him," I had to make up a quick excuse, "if he has a prom date. I can probably hook you two up."
This seemed to please her a lot. A lot.
"I guess he's in a food court. I did see them walk into one not too long ago." she told me.
"Thanks Tay. I hope you feel better."
I then got up and, believe it or not, there they were. Josh and Nolan Matthews. The killer and sidekick.
I heard someone utter a little fake laugh. Gina.
"There they are. Found them," she said.
Honestly, how can someone be so evil? Josh is just standing there with a cocky smirk on his face. He knows something. It's obvious.
"Chanel, can we talk for a minute," he stated rather than asked.
As I start to walk out by him and his brother, I whispered to him, "I was about to ask the same thing."
I was standing right by the arcade entrance when I got that guilt feeling. Something was about to go down. Now.
"Why can't you just pretend it never happened, huh, Chanel? Humor me." Josh yelled.
I swore all eyes were on me. He practically called me guilty right in front of my best friends. Most of all, Taylor and Gina.
"What did happen, Josh. Tell us the true story." I yelled back at him.
