It was a good four weeks since Chaz and I started going out. Which was directly after we kissed.
There was no news about Josh or his brother, which lead the friends and I to assume they transferred schools.
“I still can’t believe I missed everything that happened that day! I am so mad.” Taylor said.
“I still can’t believe that it took you since, what?, 1st grade to ask Chanel out, Chaz.” Gina told him.
“Well, things change for the better or the worst, especially between friends.” Chaz said.
I snuggled into him. He really is soft, strong, and muscular.
“Besides, Gin, where’s that boyfriend of yours that you said you had in 3rd grade?” I asked her.
“We broke up two years later. I keep telling you guys.” she responded.
“Uh-huh.” was what everyone else said.
“So Taylor, still mad that you don’t have a prom date?” I asked her.
“Nah. I rather go with my single friends. Besides, some guys are way overrated.” she said.
“Tell me about it. I have been trying to get with Johnny McCoy since forever. And he still hasn’t accepted.” Bethany said.
“Maybe he’s just shy. Oh, look, here he comes now.” Gina told her.
“Uh, hey Beth. I was, you know, just, wondering if, if you don’t mind, if you want to go to prom together. Maybe then we can connect more.” he told her.
“Uh, of course.” Beth told him.
“Great! I’ll pick you up around 7 then?”
“Yeah. That’ll be great.”
And he left.
“I absolutely love you guys and your voodoo love powers.”
We all laughed until class started.
************************************************************************
It was the night of prom. All my friends, including the boyfriend and Johnny, were all at my house.
Apparently, parents love to take pictures of their child and child’s friends on prom night.
“Are you done yet?” I asked my parents.
“Not yet, sweets.” my dad said. “Ok, we’re done.”
“Aw. All of you look to adorable. Have fun.” mom said.
“And don’t bring us any grandbabies.” dad said.
“I promise we will and never until, mid twenties?” I told them.
“That’s my girl!” dad said.
I gave each a kiss on the cheek and went to enjoy the end of my junior year.
